Hi,
I have a customer who gets duplicate emails when ever someone answers an question she has followed in our Q&A.
Do you have any idea why this might happen? I'm a bit lost with it.
Kind regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
First of all you are using an old version of Q&A. Please upgrade it to V1.3
Secondly, is she the author of these kind of questions too?
Cheers,
Hakan

Hi Paul,
Just checking back.
Did you have the opportunity to upgrade the plugin and check if the lady who is getting the duplicate emails is author of the related questions?

Hi Hakan
Sorry I had not seen your reply I did not have the box ticked for notifications. I'll upgrade right away.
Its any of the questions she has been asked to be notified about.
Hopefully the upgrade might fix it but I'll report back to you.
Might be a separate question but is there an way to have no down votes? A few people in our community have suggested an up vote only system. I know I can set a down vote to not remove points from the user but can you remove the down vote all together?
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Yes, there is a very simple way of disabling down voting. Just hide down voting button using css:
You can simply add this inside "Additional css rules" field in the settings page.

Hi Hakan,
Great! that's done the trick.
The customer with the issue of duplicate emails is still getting them after the upgrade. Any help on this would be great.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
The upgrade was not about duplicate emails. It was just a normal suggestion :)
I am afraid I can see no reason for this issue except for duplicate registration to the website and subscription to the questions.
People usually have 2-3 or more emails and register to a website with different email accounts and tend to forget it. Those accounts are usually redirected to a single account.
I think this is the case here.
Please ask the related emails to be forwarded to you. But not as text, as copy and paste. You should take them in their original forms so that you can see what the original recipient email address is from the details. If you see two different recipient email addresses, than that means a duplicate registration.
You can forward those emails to me for analysis too, to hakan (at) incsub.com
Cheers,
Hakan
