In WPMU, once I create child themes for a main theme, is there any way to hide the main in the list of all installed themes from sub-site admins? In other words, I only want sub-site admins to see the child themes as options to switch theme, and they will not see the main theme at all - so they only can activate any of the child themes. Possible?

Absolutely. Logged into the network admin dashboard only enable the child themes and those are the only ones that will appear available to choose from in the sub sites.
