Hi, Its me again with probably my million and first question ive posted lol
Anyway....I just installed multisite analytics today as I wanna offer statistics for my members as well as see them myself, a couple questions on it however.
1.) When signing up in google if I run domain mapping do I still pick the subdomain option or multiple domains...
2.) the code I get goes into the network admins spot but the main signup site...ie the primary site for the network... shoudl I get a 2nd code for that as well?
3.) Lastly... I saw some ppl saying you should get wp stats or something similar to see realtime statistics in the dashboard.... is that somthing that I should do or is analytics all I should offer?
Thank You

Hi LCDist,
I believe you'd use the sub-domain option as these are actually sub-domains made to appear as top-level domains, however if you're planning on having only top-level domains, I would think the multiple domains would be the best route. There's a bit of discussion on this in the following thread:
http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/google-analytics-tracking-options-doman-vs-subdomain
For the main site I believe you'd just need the network code but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have both.
That really just depends on how much information you want to have but really, that WP stats plugin is amazing. I'd advise it, if not just because it's deadly easy to use.
EDIT: The WP Stats plugin can also easily let you know if you're receiving traffic to sites, which could help in troubleshooting analytics.
Cheers,
David

3) http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/feature-requests-google-analytics-for-multisite
Please go there and add your +1 support for internal stats.
I believe wpmudev could beat wpstats plugin (if they can utilise their own indexer plugin)

Not sure if it is different stats for different users. You will have to create a quick dummy account.
the best thing about wpstats is wordpress.com handles all the server load for it!
Thats the problem will running stats analytics on the backend, the server load.
Hope you work it out !
