Hi,
I have followed installation instructions and installed the post indexer, global feed and widget.
I have made a test post on one of my WPMU sites.
I can see this post has been indexed when i goto: domain /wp-content/recent-global-posts-feed.php?posttype=post
However it does not display in the widget area.
Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Providing you followed all the instructions here:

And here:
http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/recent-global-posts-feed/installation/
Then any posts made after installation should show.

Yes, did those steps.
I have the following: http://artfulworks.co.uk/wp-content/recent-global-posts-feed.php?posttype=post
Shows my test post.
However nothing on the widget.

I see what you mean now. That widget is for displaying a link to the feed. Not the actual feed itself.
For that, you will want this plugin:
http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/recent-global-posts-widget
The idea behind the plugin you are currently using is to provide a global RSS feed for users to subscribe to.
