How do I remove the default incsub ads from my blogs. I've installed the supporter ads plugin and my adsense code is showing correctly. However, on the posts, incsub ads are showing also?
Here's an example page:

thanks.

Hiya,
Could you please specify which ads you think are ours?. We don't place ads on any sites we setup. I imagine we'd have people complaining left and right if we did that ;)
Thanks,
Andrew

If you mean the links at the bottom - just edit them out in footer.php :)

@Andrew
That's odd. I'm seeing ads on a few on my WPMU installs (all done by WP.MU). I just assumed you ran default adsense ads until I overrode them with my own.
Here are a couple of pages as examples:
http://qwertyu.scrapblogz.com/2009/11/07/hello-world/
http://maine.statemunicipalbonds.info/2009/10/23/investing-in-maine-bonds/
On the first, I'm running my own adsense code via the supporter advertising plugin. On the second site (statemunicipalbonds.info), I'm not running any of my own ads. I also don't have the supporter ads or simple ads plugin running on the municipal bonds site so I can't figure out where the ads are coming from?
The ads in question are the two at the top. The ad block below (on the scrapblogz blog) is mine.
On both these sites, the publisher id that keeps showing up is the same one pub-3374715123484136. This is not my adsense publisher ID. Mine is pub-5596037624467592.
@James
Thanks. It's not the ads at the bottom. It the adsense ads at the top that I can't get rid of.

Again, we don't place any ads aside from what's at the bottom of the themes (powered by blah blah blah, etc). We most definitely do not place adsense ads.
Can you provide me with a list of plugins running on statemunicipalbonds.info? Have you tried renaming /plugins/ and /mu-plugins/ to see if it is indeed a plugin?
Thanks,
Andrew

Guys, I had to be a pest but the *.136 code is James'. Not sure if that's the an Insub code but a quick google pulls up this attempt on the Site That Must Not be Named:
http://james.wordpress.com/2008/03/18/test-ad-code/
What's ironic about this is 2 days ago I was told there was no way to Google for an adsense code.

Now that's weird. I know for a fact that I didn't put any adsense code into anything.
Now I'm *very* curious to see a list of plugins running on those sites.
Thanks,
Andrew

Maybe it's an old theme set or something.
It's worth notting thought that we do actually use adwords for wp.mu :)

Yep, but we don't use adsense on wp.mu sites (just to be clear).
Thanks,
Andrew

I've narrowed it down to the supporter-ads plugin. When I delete it, the ads disappear. This is a fine solution for statemunicipalbonds since I don't want to run ads on this one but how to I get these ads to stop running on scrapblogz.com where I want to use the supporter ads plugin?
I've attached a copy of the supporters-ads.php file.
thanks.

Oops - it looks like I can't upload the php version. Here's the text copy.

Hiya,
The file you sent me was from an older version of the Supporter plugin. I really recommend upgrading to the latest version.
Thanks,
Andrew

I do have the latest version running on the scrapblogz site but the unwanted ads are still showing. Of course, when I delete or rename the supporter-ads.php, my ads stop running as well?
I'll upgrade to the latest supporter version on the statemunicipalbonds site but I doubt it will work since it didn't on the other site.
Here's what I've tried so far
renamed the plugins directory - ads still showed
deleted, refresed the site and then replaced every file and directory in the plugins-mu folder. The only thing that removes the unwanted adsense ads is deleting the supporters-ads.php file.
The adsense code has to be coming from somewhere. Unfortunately, I'm not a good enough programmer to figure out where it's being called?
Thanks,
Daryl

Ok - I've upgraded to the latest version of supporter. I assume it's the latest as I just downloaded it from this site?
The ads are still showing??

The supporter-ads.php you sent me is from version 1.6.2.
Btw, do you have the Supporter Advertising (supporter-advertising.php) plugin running?
Thanks,
Andrew

Not on the statemunicipalbonds site. I do have it runing the the scrapblogz site.
The supporter-ads.php file I sent you was the one that auto installed on the site two weeks ago. This WPMU install is only a couple of weeks old and I did not ad any plugins to what was automatically installed by the WP.MU site.
In fact, I haven't had time to do anything to this install other than set up one blog at maine.statemunicipalbonds.info. Other than that it's been untouched since the install. So the code that's adding these adsense ads had to have come from the original install files?
I did upgrade to the most recent version a moment ago supporter 2.0 but it didn't help. Ads are still showing.

Andrew,
WP.MU did three installs for me on the following sites:
harborview.me
http://testblog.harborview.me/2009/11/09/hello-world/
plus the other two.
All of them have this adsense issue??
the harborview.me site is also running the originally installed version of the supporter plugin. Again, with this site, I've added no plugins or mu-plugins to the original install.
Thanks,
Daryl

Hiya,
If you want to send over account details for one (1) site I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find out where the ads are coming from.
My only guess is that our adsense code got left in by mistake when we were testing something in one of the plugins.
Thanks,
Andrew

Is it OK to email it?
Thanks,

Hiya,
Can you please try switching one of the blogs with the ads to one of the default WP themes to see if it's maybe ads embedded in the themes. We think some of the themes may have been copied over from Edublogs by accident.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi,
That sounds right. Here's the page with the default theme.
http://maine.statemunicipalbonds.info/2009/10/23/investing-in-maine-bonds/
No Ads :) finally, now what? Download the a new theme pack and install?
Thanks,
Daryl

I thought there was a theme pack but only see the 10 themes on the theme tab. Where can I download the rest? Thx.
Daryl

You have to enable them via Site Admin > Themes.

I meant download new themes without the edublogs adsense code. Is that the big farm 100 theme pack?
Erstwhile founder (joined May 2007) Likes (0)
Oops, sorry about that. Here you go:

Andrew
Just wanted to let you know installing the new themes pack did the trick. Adsense ads must have been coded into the templates. Thanks again for all your help.

No problem. We'll get the correct themes setup on wp.mu.
Thanks,
Andrew
