Okay, been a long while since I have been around here, and that long since doing any custom work. I know I know the answer to this, couldn't find it anywhere through forum search. I do not want the author of the post, or the date information showing up, especially on the front page where the three 300x250 pictures are posted. How do I go about removing this?
And secondly, on pages that I do not want any mention of comments, how do I get rid of all mention of it for those pages?

Welcome back to WPMUdev forums!
To remove the date and author just edit the theme file(s) remove the bits that look like this:
<?php the_date(); ?>
or this:
<?php the_time(); ?>
You can do the same with
<?php comments_template(); ?>
