Hey there.
Our ultimate branding plugin has an option for text replace:
http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/ultimate-branding/
So you can replace all that with your own. This way you don't have to edit WordPress everytime you come to update.
Take care.

i tried that and it did not work. what i had to do was in ultimate branding go to the widget area and click on the :right now" box and that got rid of the whole area i just want to remove one part of it.

It would depend what your entering, because of how the text field is made you would need to do the WordPress separate and the "the you are using" separate.
But removing the whole menu works as well. :)
Take care.

If its sorted then you wouldn't need to do anything?
Or you do:
Then you don't need to edit core files then.
Thanks.

Thanks for the great idea on using the text replace. That saves a ton of time as it changes the text in the template descriptions and everything. Great work on the branding plugin overall.
