I can't seem to get the auto blog plugin to work and I think it's because I don't have a proper Feed URL.
Can someone please recommend a feed URL I can use for the auto posts im trying to process.
thanks!
Alex

Hiya,
It looks like the feed you're trying to process isn't formatted correctly:
http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.bing.com%2Frss.aspx%3FSource%3DNews%26Market%3Den-US%26Version%3D2.0%26Query%3Dtouch%2Bscreen%2Blaptops%2Barticles

Hi amgconsulting,
As Phil's mentioned, the feed doesn't appear to validate so I assume that's the issue here. There's really not anything Autoblog can do if the feed itself is an issue.
I'm having a closer look at this right now though to see what the issue might be.
Cheers,
David

Hi David,
Thanks for chiming in. I know the feed is the problem. All im trying to do is get a valid feed URL, do you know one?
I've been looking for days for a correct URL.
What would you use?
Thanks,

Okay, while the feed doesn't appear to validate, I was nonetheless able to use that feed, as follows, in Autoblog to pull posts in.
http://api.bing.com/rss.aspx?Source=News&Market=en-US&Version=2.0&Query=touch+screen+laptops+articles
Here's a screen-grab of the pulled posts.
Could you let me know first off, where you're seeing those error messages you posted? Perhaps provide a screenshot of the error?

Hi amgconsulting,
I've been trying to replicate this as closely as possible and I'm just missing a couple things at this point. Could you please provide a screenshot of the lower settings on the feed setup page?
Basically, I'd just need to see the dates specified in the Feed Processing section. I've got no dates specified there in my own setup and it works perfectly with that. I suspect this may have to do with those date settings.
Something peculiar I noticed too though, that may influence this, you have a slug url and slug listed in your "Add posts to" section. I've not seen that before and it's something we'll have to look into as well.
To hopefully help out a bit, here's the settings I have for the bottom options on that page.

Hi David,
Thanks for trying to help out. I need to start from scratch. This is extremely frustrating and we are getting nowhere. I already figured out the date issue.
What I need and what i've been asking you guys for days now, is a a feed URL that I can use to pull content from. That's all. It's all ive ever wanted and asked for. PLEASE just provide me with a URL that you guys use, the one I have is no good.

Hi amgconsulting,
Sure thing, you can try the following for example:
http://wordpress.org/news/feed/
I actually didn't provide a different one than you already had because I was able to get it to work myself. That wordpress.org news feed is a much simpler one to test though.
Cheers,
David

Ok this is just borderline RIDICULOUS now. David, I used the URL you provided and attached the entire screen shots of my setup and not 1 post.
What in the world is going on here??

amg,
What's going on? You've put the words "touch-screen laptop articles" in the "All of these words" filter. That means only posts with all of those words will be pulled in. I don't see any articles with all those words at http://wordpress.org/news/ thus you won't get anything there - doesn't seem ridiculous to me.

Guys I've been trying to setup this up for days now and you probably know how frustrated i've been. I must have mentioned this a few times.
So if I did something wrong, why not just tell me exactly how to properly do it and how to properly check the keyword filtering so that I'm doing it correctly. Instead all you said is that i'm doing it wrong.
So what is the correct way?? Which of the filters should I use?

Mason,
Please see attached pic. So based on your comments, I did a run based on 1 word "laptops" and so your telling me there is not 1 article to post based on such a general keyword?
Then it must be the RSS feed url again, but whatever it is, I still can't get the setup correct.
Can you please once and for all, just exactly tell me how to set up your plugin.

Hiya amg,
try putting the word "the" in the "Any of these words" filter. I imagine every post in the wordpress.org/news/ feed contains this word.
Remove all words from any other Post Filters.
Save and click process.
Let us know how it goes. Thanks.

but what about touch-screen laptops? that's my keyword so how can I not include it in the search?
Member (joined October 2011) Likes (0)
ok well this is clearly insane because the keyword "the" doesn't work
Member (joined October 2011) Likes (0)
So I made I change 1 change and set "Treat Feed Categories" as Categories Instead of Tags and it posted 10 articles (10 articles for the keyword "the" ??) - I attached the screenshot
When I reverted back to Tags, it didn't work again.
I'm starting to wonder if this plugin works at all, because if you look at the screen shot, the only way to get this to work is to set it to create many random categories? i need it to create tags and it appears to be a bug here.
What is going on with this plugin?? I've spent days on it and still no close to getting this fixed.

So I'm trying to be proactive and went to articlesbase because I figured maybe the feed you guys recommended was not a good one topic wise and now im getting these errors.
How can http://www.articlesbase.com/rss be the wrong URL??
