Hello,
I just installed the BP Group Wiki Plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-group-wiki/) they use non accessable Blogs (which they create) to embed Wiki Pages in BP Groups. It works fine and it's pretty nice ... BUT ... by default the BP Group Pages are FULL WITH (Size) and have no Widget Sidebar ... now (I think) that they use fake-blogs to do the wiki pages the default Blog Template is used with the widget sidebar ... so the design screwes up a little and it does not look like a groups page ... how can I fix this? Can I put in a "hook" or whatever to tell Scholar to use the full with template for those pages??? The Wiki-Fake-Blogs all use a "NO ACCESS blog theme" from the Plugin!
Any solutions / experinces with that???
Thanks!

@INKstar: Unfortunately this is a plugin I have no experience with in relation to our theme. Our themes however do nothing different than other templates so my thoughts are firstly you may have to contact the plugin developer to see how it is suggested to be used in other themes from the Default BuddyPress 1.2 one which is the one I see they say it works with.
My initial thoughts are that it could require you to edit the groups pages but before we dive into that as it could be more indepth if you could see what their suggestion is. I'm not sure what you mean by switching template for Blogs... the blogs use the page.php layout - I think however your issue is with the groups pages not blogs.
I will note that please be patient when out of support hours questions are requested.. we do our best to get to all support queries however this is also something using a plugin that isn't one of ours so we whilst can do our best we may have to ask you as in this case to see what the recommendation is from the plugin developer. Whilst in an ideal world we'd support every plugin even if not ours, time and sanity make this impossible :) We do however try and work with any situation so if you can find out what the recommendation is for a non default theme from that plugin developer we can take it from there.

Other groups plugins work .. but that not and it is based on blogs (generates blogs for each wiki) so I think that is the thing!?!? Maybe tmeplate switching for Blogs helps (http://www.nathanrice.net/blog/wordpress-single-post-templates/) I saw that there are also plugins for that! Too bad no one has experience with that plugin - it's one of the best i found and totally makes sense to enhance groups with :-))))

@INKstar: Single post templates I doubt is what is linked here.. I would contact the plugin developer they are sure to have steps to make non default themes work you can follow as it has to be a common issue.

Yeah, no worries ... it's not your plugin (business) ... sure ... what other answer could I expect ;-P ... the only thing is with another BP site (no wpmudev theme) it worked "out of the box" ... but, hey I was only dreaming about getting a helping hand here ... no worries I will not bother you anymore!

@INKstar: Not sure why you would think you never get a hand as we're always about helping where we can. If you read I asked you to contact for steps and infact as I said here:
I was offering to help once you did.

Another Plugin ... same problem! All Group Pages are in full width but the plugin pages come (default?) with a (unwanted) sidebar!?
Where can I "tell" the Theme which template (sidebar / no sidebar) to take??
Never ever had that problem before ... on ALL other BuddyPress Sites I'm on this problem is non-existant ... just the WPMUDEV theme has a "broken" design (grey background istead of white and misplaced group moderators etc.) and that sidebar appearing :-((((

ooops ... the "normal" screenshot again:

@INKstar: Firstly, what is going on is that this is using I think the page template yes? If that is confirmed and currently I don't even know what plugin this is all you've done is claim the theme is broken without telling me - I need all the information not partial knowledge. Now can you please do the following for me:
1. Screenshot with the default Theme - reason: I want to 'see' what template it is trying to use.
2. You can assign templates to pages BUT as I've said before this isn't a 'page' is it in the sense of wordpress it's a buddypress section as in groups. Can you confirm this.
Also you may want to note I am just like before not refusing help for you.

Here is what it looks like in the default buddypress theme ... again ... i'm not saying your Theme is broken in a technical term ... maybe it's the best in the world when it comes to clean code or whatever ... but what I can say is that it is just not working ... on EVERY other theme I run on other BP sites I install those plugins and they work as one would expect them to work ... thats all ... and that's why I come here and ask "how can i make it work" ... basicly I dont care whos fault it is or whatever ... i just want to work with what I bought here and with my simple mind that I got I was thinking "hey, these plugins work with every theme except one ... must be a bug in that one" ... but maybe it's feature ... i dont know :) ... enlighten me :) and excuse my bad english and lack of knowledge about all this but if I would know I probably would make it my own and would not pay to get "ready to run solutions" ;-)))

@INKstar: I need you to send an admin login through to the contact form on this site and I will try and fit in having a look at your site we don't usually and I can't say whether I will have a solution or not but I need to see this on your site. Just to be clear that we do not usually do this however I will this once. I want to see also what other themes these work with as you have said it works with every other theme so need to on your site but assume therefore you have other buddypress themes on there I can try?

I can set up a fresh install on a "play machine" for you and put all themes in I work with so you can see for yourself (although as you can see the default BP theme works with these plugins) ... the sites I run are actually in use and member data is stored there so no admin access goes to third party ... not that I dont trust you but the trust to our (my) users is build on principals, pricipals we would never give up for any "bug"!
I wanted to have a play or developement server anyways (WP3.0 is coming) so it is no extra work but itmight take some hours since I'm pretty busy at the moment!

That's fine if you want to send through details to the contact form on this site I can see what I can have a look. Just make sure you're using the latest version of Scholar so I can test properly. I will state that our themes are not yet updated for 3.0 neither is buddypress so lets make sure it's not on that quite yet.
