mmm..there shouldn't be a bp-default folder in wp-content/themes
the themes in appearence will fetch the bp-default from plugins so yes deleted it...update here
agin ok..
I do not have a bp-default theme in my wp-content/themes directory.
To go back to your first reply, am I correct that you said I should delete the bp-themes folder that is in the wp-content/plugins/buddypress directory? How will this help with my problem? If I delete the bp-themes folder, I won't have any bp themes to use for my site.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I am using the bp-default theme.

Sorry, let me clarify.
I have the site set to the bp-default theme.

I thought you are supposed to move the bp-default folder to wp-content/themes directory and then activate it.
Member — 5th May 2010 (2 years ago) #
Currently, the bp-default theme is only in the wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes directory.
It showed up on my list of available themes under Appearance and I was able to activate it.
Here is the site: http://commons.aurorak12.org/
You'll notice that the Activity, Blogs, Groups and Members tabs all give me "Page Not Found" errors.

Thats fine. Did you try going to the Permalinks page and hitting save? That should flush the rewrite rules.

I tried resaving the Permalinks but am still getting the Page Not Found errors:

This may be a dumb question, but is the BP plugin activated?
Member — 5th May 2010 (2 years ago) #
Yes, the BP plugin is activated. On the backend I have the full set of BuddyPress links to General Settings, Component Setup, Forum Settings, etc.
Also, when I'm logged in I get that BP menu bar at the top of my pages.

Is the site you are having issues with, the primary site (Blog ID 1) - the one for which BP is activated?
I'm pretty sure you will experience this issue if you try to activate the BP default theme on a non-primary site.

Hmmm... the BP theme must be on the primary site? It can't be on any other site on the WPMU installation?
Is there any way around that? The primary site is our public site and not set up for a BP theme.

There are some things you can change in the wp-config file for that:
