I am running multidata base, not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not, but I can't seem to get the site wide activation for the plugins to work in mu 7.2.1
is there something I am missing I need to do to get this to work?
or maybe,,, when I activate sitewide plugins it will then only work on any new signups? and not currently active blogs?

any chance this is something that will be looked at further? I am thinking it would be a bit of a chore to deactivate the multi db plugin to test whether this is causing the issue or not. Maybe someone is not running multi db and site wide activation works for them? that might tell me something.
thanks for any feed back.
Thanks Andrew,
I am not running the supporter plugin. Sorry, I missed your post.
I am starting to wonder if I might have multidb set up wrong. Sorry I keep coming back to the multidb mention... but I am seeing it mentioned here as a possible problem. If you are sure it's not that, please advise, thanks.
so just to make sure, activating a plugin "site wide" via the new feature in 2.7.1 activates it for all existing blgos and sets it to be automatically activated for all new blgos?
Please note that you still need to install our plugins according to the install.txt file in the download package. A lot of people think the sitewide activation features means that our plugins can be placed in /plugins/ now and that's just simply not the case.

Good question, I'm not entirely sure - does anyone else know if sitewide activation affects older blogs?

Just asked Donncha via Twitter, it should affect all blogs.

Donncha didn't know if the multidb plugin could cause issues with the sitewide activation of plugins. Andrea's response (also via twitter):

Hiya,
Multi-DB shouldn't be interfering here. Are you by any chance using the supporter plugin?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hiya,
Did you catch my supporter question? If you're running it then that could be the problem.
Thanks,
Andrew

Can you please remove all plugins except Multi-DB just to make sure it's not something else interfering?
Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew,
I did not abandon this, just got to work it into the schedule. I will get back to this once I have had a chance to do it. Thanks.
