I'm really excited about trying the new Studio Theme. I love the full width header, and the clean uncluttered look. I installed both parent and child (version 1.01), and activated the child only. I'm trying it on an inactive subdomain of my urban planning website just to get the hang of it. I have a couple of questions:
1) I noticed a new version is out - 1.02. Can I use the Wordpress built-in update function? Wordpress admin is not showing that a new version is available so there is no update link for it. If I have to do it with FTP, do I install all the theme directories I already installed - do I overwrite the existing directories and files or install in a new directory?
2) In Theme Options, it seems to be stuck on the tab "scripts." Nothing happens when I click on one of the other tabs.

Please ignore item #1 above. I found the answer at http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-to-update-parentchild-theme (I searched in WPMU Dev before posting but did not see it. I found it later by googling "how to update wpmu dev theme") Item #2 still applies. Even after the update, I can't get it to work.

Hiya,
Glad you got issue #1 sorted.
Issue #2 sounds like a javascript issue - some kind of plugin misbehaving and adding code where it shouldn't be. Try disabling all plugins and checking it out. Then, re-enable the plugins one at a a time until you find the bad guy.
I'm running 1.0.2 of Studio without issue so it's probably some tricky plugin somewhere. Let us know you're results!
Thanks!

Do I have to network deactivate, or just on the subdomain?

Just on the subdomain with Studio should be fine. Watch for mu-plugins as well - depending on what you have going.
Thanks!

Thanks Mason I deactivated all plugins and sho-nuff, it worked again. I have since reactivated all that appear necessary and it still works (I found a few plugins that I don't think I use anymore so I didn't reactivate them).

Glad to hear it.
That normally does the trick. If you're not using them, delete 'em so they don't become tempting again. ;D
Thanks!

So now I have all the Theme Options working. I'm reading the theme manual (which came in the download) and trying things out. Here is a short list:of things I haven't been able to figure out:
1) Background color for the body and around the custom header is grey but I'd like to change it to white. I don't see anything in the T.O. that seems to allow this. How do I get white background?
2) Can't get any sidebars to work on the home page except the three footer sidebars. The other sidebars seem to work on the pages though.
4) Branding: How do I line up my logo image and title better in the header?
5) I'm using the wpmudev SEO plugin. Should I use it or the theme's seo function? (I imagine I shouldn't run them both simultaneously?)
6) How do I use the image I'm currently using as a custom header as the background in the main header? , (i.e., the full width one at the top). I'ms sure it involves some code but I'm undaunted.
7) When I activate the slideshow block, there is a little dot that appears in the lower left hand corner of the block. What is that and how do I get rid of it?

@wadams92101: Ok lets deal with each thing.
1. You'd have to put this in the child.css try body{} but you may also want header. A great tool is this:
http://buddydress.com/2010/06/firebug-installing-discovering-and-using-the-tutorial/
2. Those are the only widget areas - what are you thinking should be there?
4. Without a link I can't comment but again site-logo or another class maybe depends how you've added it.
5. Up to you and no don't run both together.
6. Again CSS would be the route using firebug.
7. Add images the dot should go if you set up slideshow correctly. That or provide a link to see the dot and what browser so we can diagnosis please.

@Tammie, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I didn't think I'd see anything until Monday. If you want to take a look, the link is in the first post above but I'll put it here for convenience Regarding #2, there's only three footer widget areas for the home page?
Also (and excuse my ignorance) why aren't the posts displaying on the front/home page? I have it set to do that in Settings>Reading.

@wadams92101: Yes those are the only areas please see the manual for a list of all widget areas. It's not a usual theme in sense of sidebar and widgets it's a theme designed to have content buckets. I'm not sure what you mean there is no method of displaying posts on the front / home page that's not what the design of this theme does it has content areas. Perhaps you should read the manual that comes with the theme it will tell you what layouts you can have.

Hi Tammie, thanks for the clarification. As a noob, I've only worked with one theme really - Atahualpa - so its a new language, so to speak. Of course, I did read the manual, as I mentioned above (See first post from October 2nd). I try not to waste your time if I can get it first from reading the instructions and the forum. Nevertheless, I'll read it again in the context of your explanation above. Thanks for your patience.
