Hi
Affiliate plugin but specially the wpmudev affiliate programm here have a little problem. Not an issue, but a problem : the totally explicite mention of affiliate ou username in the link.
This is a problem. Why ?
Well, I often post mentions of wpmudev in several forums, and surely bring here many people. But the problem is that affiliate links are generally not allowed and moderated on those forum.
Request a "discrete" solution in the link for us to post discretely ;) AND the possibility to have direct links to specific pages (for plugins for ex. )

Hi Aphrodite,
Not sure how well this would work for you but with the affiliate program you can enter a domain in the Affiliate Advanced Settings as depicted here:
And with that set, all the traffic coming from that domain will be recorded as an affiliate referral, essentially regardless of where on the site that links to. So you could link directly to a plugin or theme for instance.
Further, to provide a referral link in another forum, for instance, you could use a link cloaking plugin like Pretty Links Pro, on your domain, so that for instance, you could have a link like yourdomain.com/dev that links right through to here.

Would that perhaps work for you?

Hiya!
How about using a shortener like bit.ly?
On your own site, you could simply use a basic rewrite rule to remove/rename the affiliate part to something else.

no david. The link is necessary when posting on forums/mails out of my site.
Sorry guy i dont understand the shortener thing :s
Edit..
mmmm ok.
but pretty links is just... scandalously expensive.
Ill have a look on the shortener....
Edit 2
mmm ok seems to be good.
Is it possible to redirect to a specific page here using our affiliate link ?
But the very funny thing is that using this explicitely says "this is a shortened affiliate link" ^^
Reason of my request for a direct premium.wpmudev.org?anynumber instead of
http://premium.wpmudev.org?ref=Aphrodite-8938 ;)

You can just append ?ref=Aphrodite-8938 to any URL on the site and it'll track it :)
