Hi donmcint,
Without having a link, I'm not totally sure this is all it is, but I believe you can simply add the following, perhaps to your theme's style.css, in order to get the chat bumped forward in order.
#chat-block-site {z-index: 100;}
Could you try that out and let me know how it goes for you?
