"You need to agree to the terms of service to register." error shows whether the box is checked or not. In fact, deleting the TOS plugin does not remove it from the membership signup page.

You need to remove the terms of service - re-enable that plugin and wipe out the terms of service contents.

Dear friends,
I have the same experience like Jeff. "You need to agree to the terms of service to register." error shows whether the box is checked or not.
It seems there is an error of plugin, isn't it?
Thanks for your help.

I have the same problem with Membership. The TOS was not a problem before Membership installation. I have taken Barry's instruction and
1. deactivated TOS and reactivated with the same problem resulting
2. deactivated, deleted, re-installed and network reactivated with the same problem resulting. Is the TOS not compatible with Membership?
The installation instructions call for network activation. I'm still somewhat confused as to when a plugin should be site activated vs. network activated. In this case, if the membership and sign-up is on the main site, and the subsites are not providing memberships, should it be activated only at the main site?

Did you remove the content from the TOS box?

Yes I removed the content. When you do, the TOS does not show up at all on form. If you go back and add some content; the TOS is displayed along with an active check box; however, when the checkbox is selected, the registration process is not recognizing that it has been checked.

I still do not have a TOS working with Membership. Is this incompatible with Membership? I've done all of Barry's suggestions from a week ago. Any resolution on this?

Barry has fixed this issue in the new Membership beta. I've tested it on my site and the TOS now works through the registration. The only thing is the text label for the TOS is not directly above the TOS text box but further up the form.

Hi antKat,
That actually sounds like a CSS issue. Have you tried it with a different theme or with other plugins that might affect CSS inactive? Do you have other plugins affecting/adding to the registration process?
If you could provide a link to the site, we can take a look at the CSS to see what might be amiss there.
Thanks,
David

Hi David,
I am using the same theme with or without Membership and the problem only occurs when Membership is activated.
Unfortunately, I needed to get the "gimme a site" during registration back which is lost with Membership. Mason provided a couple of hook points, unfortunately, they did not work, so I have abandoned using Membership at this time.
If you would like to check the TOS membership problem that occured on my site, I would be happy to reactivate Membership temporarily so that you can check to see if it was Theme related.

Same problem with TOS. I did what Barry said and it still doesn't work as it should. I just removed the plugin for now.

Charles, Barry did fix the problem with the ability to complete registration with TOS when I tested the Membership beta. The only problem that remained was the text label, but the TOS was working properly.

@antkat - can you put up a screenshot of the label? The membership plugin doesn't display the TOS, it only has the action in there to allow it to be displayed as it would in the normal registration pages - so it's the TOS plugin itself that is doing the output, and so should be outputting the same thing with and without membership being activated.

I put the plugin in the garbage twice, nothing

The beta has been out since the beginning of July - I don't know when the final release will be, I would assume soon.
