WordPress is not changing my email address. After it says "pending" I go and click the verification link in my email which alerts me of the change, but nothing happens, the email just goes back to what it was before and no change. It is not updating.
Personally, I hate this feature as will my users. How can I completely turn it off so no "pending" status is set and no email change validation is sent either?
I just want to be able to change email addresses without this step.

I've never tried to do that to be honest, so I'm not 100% sure.
The purpose of it though is to ensure the user enters a correct email address because if they don't they could not claim their account back if they lost their password. Because of data protection you couldn't just sign over an account to just anyone.
Sorry, hopefully someone else might have seen a plugin around for you...

Not sure why I couldn't change it, I hope my users don't have this issue (i'll have to test that) but for now I just changed it in the database.
So never mind.

When the link is clicked, what exactly happens? Any confirmation on the site?
Any errors in the log files?
