I can upload media to okstateu.com but am not able to at okstateu.com/2010 even when logged in as a super admin. This is the error I get: "Unable to create directory /home/okstateu/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files/2011/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?" I changed the permissions on blogs.dir to 775 and is still wouldn't work. This seems to have been discussed before but I couldn't find a complete solution.
I have my site hosted with hostgator if that help.
Thanks for your assistance.

Recursively set permissions to 755 on the entire /blogs.dir/ folder.

Do you mean the wp-content folder.

sorry, hit submit too soon. My blogs.dir is a stand alone application/file in the wp-content folder. Should blogs.dir be in a different folder? I looked through the directions and my notes and think I have it in the right place.
I checked wp-content and it is set to 755

Yea it's in wp-content. You need to recursively set permissions.

I am sorry, I think I am missing something. I've set wp-content folder to 755 and blogs.dir to 755 (I've also tried 775) but still can't upload media.
I've played around with it for a while and it seems I can upload media to the primary site (okstateu.com) but can't to the blog/site within (okstateu.com/2011) regardless of whether I am logged in as admin or super admin.
I have a feeling I am forgetting to click a button somewhere to make the subdirectories writable. Thoughts?

Did you check the permissions of all the subfolders in blogsdir? What I mean by recursive is making sure it sets permissions in all subfolders.

Okay, this is where i might have an issue. I don't have any subfolders in blog.dir. Should I have created a folder for this or simply a .dir application/x-director?

Disregard all, I got it. I hadn't set up the blogs.dir correctly (as you will see in the image). Totally my error.
Thanks for all your patience.
