I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I do not know what.
I just replaced the db.php with the latest one. Probably it is not enough as the notification is still there for multi-db
btw I do not think we need the multi-db plugin in the plugins directory, do we? Is it serving any purpose?
I believe db.php and db-config are the only one needed for running in multi-db mode

I have just copied over the latest 3.1.2 but stil shows that I have 3.1.1
I re-instal the update notifications plugin but still shows me notification pending for multi-db ??
Is it possible that the update notifications plugin wont work?

It shouldn't be there at all, copying it up to that directory isn't part of the installation steps if I recall.
Can you confirm the location of your db.php file, and if pos post up a screenshot of where the incorrect version number is showing. I'll check the files when I get back to my computer to make sure the correct file is being downloaded.
db.php and db-config.php are both under wp-content/
I removed the multi-db plugin from the plugins directory as I do also believe it serves no purpose there.
That didn't make any difference. I suspect that my update notification plugin is not functioning probably.
see screenshot. There is newer release for Q&A, but it does not notify me??

Hey there! :-)
Just checking in to see how things are going. :-)
Are you on the latest versions now of all relevant plugins?
We haven't heard form you on this in a while. So I'm going to presume your all fixed up now and don't need any further assistance.
However if you have more questions or need some more help then please feel free to respond in this thread or create a new one and we will be more than happy to offer assistance. :-)
I have the same problem with the forum plugin on one of my sites. It's asking me to update even after updating and there has been several new versions since the version that it got stuck on. I'm just ignoring it but I admit it's a little bit annoying.

Greetings giorgos :-)
you are correct that the Multi DB Plugin should be removed from the plugins folder and further correct that the db.php and db-config.php files are in the root of wp-content directory.
However, after removing the Multi DB plugin from the plugin folder, did you by any chance tell the Update Notifications Plugin to update the notifications?
On my configuration it does this every twelve hours and you may be seeing a hold over from the last time it checked while the Multi DB Plugin was still in your Plugins Folder.
Thanks Joe, but I do not think thats the case. It is already some time now that update notifications plugin ignores multi-db version, but as Qlof mentioned, it is not a big deal, just a bit annoying.

Greetings giorgos :-)
sir what I cannot figure out why it would be happening on your networks including Qlof's, though a different plugin that we are not using yet, but not on either of our two MS Networks??
I guess that is the one million dollar question .... lol

Hi Giorgos,
Copying over the latest db.php should be all that's needed. Let me run that by the developers to confirm that.

Any idea why copying over the latest db.php wont make the update notification disappear?

Thanks for checking Timothy. No it is is not resolved yet. Multi-db still triggers the notification plugin.
I have copied the latest db.php (3.1.2) over but notification plugin still mentions that there is a new version available.
" You have version 3.1.1 installed. Update to 3.1.2"

Odd, I'm not seeing any issues. I'll keep an eye on this in my sandbox. Perhaps install a couple of old versions and then do updates.
May take a little while....
Take care.
