Thank you for this great question and a significant item to bring up.
In most cases only site admins are allowed to manipulate the products though I can see you are trying to indicate user roles which are easily manipulated to do what we want them to do most of the time.
Are you finding that you can access the products logged in as a regular user?
Are you using a second browser to provide the test?
Are you clearing the cookies from your current browser before testing?

Hi,
I tested out various roles and I found out the following:
1) If logged in as a administrator and editor, I will have access to the MarketPress Plugin
2) if logged in a subscriber or a author, I will not have access to the MarketPress Plugin ( but will still have access to Blog Posts ).
