I'd also like to see support for two PayPal accounts with logic to handle micropayments vs. macropayments. Sellers can save a lot on paypal fees by running an additional micropayments account, but it doesn't appear you can run only one. Micropayments are those that are under $12, I can't find any details on what happens when a payment larger than $12 is sent to a micropayments account. PayPal, of course recommends running two accounts.
I run a micro account and the savings is extremely noticable when it comes to paypay fees. When margins are slim, that extra little bit helps.
Maybe some more investigation is needed into this, but being able to input a micro account and a macro account which larger payments will automatically get sent to might be useful.

A gateway company that I think should be included is fastspring.com
They specialize in software, but can handle any product and have extended to memberships / subscription products too etc. They really have the most features that I have ever seen in a gateway company. They are slightly more expensive than paypal / 2checkout but those that use them swear it is worth it with everything you get. They have a pretty slick api and are super friendly and helpful.
Sagepay (mainly for building stuff for clients)
Cardsave (quite cheap and owned by streamline)
Worldpay (mainly for building stuff for clients)
I didnt know MP had parallel payments! This seems a better option that chained to me. Does the first receiving account still pay the fees with parallel payments?

It has chained and parallel. When parallel (global checkout) each store owner get's charged their own fees. It's basically transparent to store owners, but makes it quite convienient for users to only checkout once.
OK slightly confused. So parallel payments share payments with other store owners but not the network (me). How do I get my money! lol (i guess I use chained payments huh). Im just not sure of the usage on parallel now.

How about supporting User ID PayPal Chained Payments :)

You can see my poll results in 'Other'.
Johnny
PS: Perhaps it could be released in Marketpress 2.5

There was once talk about FedEx and/or UPS API integration -- I guess this is more of a "shipping" thing than a payment gateway.

That's true. I've been waiting for this shipping stuff too

PayPal Parallel Payments - perhaps as a workaround to not having an affiliate system for products sold on MP?

Beanstream please.

I've always kind of vaguely liked 2Checkout. They seem to pay moderately well and they're cheap and easy to set up.

2Checkout is in there already, as well as parrallel payments (used when global cart is on to checkout from up to 10 stores at once).

I'd like to see global shopping cart (parallel payments) extended to work with PayPal chained payments.

By users you mean store owners correct?
So the store owner gets charged fees and the "mall" owner gets charged fees too, yes?
Lead Developer — 3rd November 2011 (6 months ago) #
No, parallel doesn't involve the network owner at all. It's a direct transactions between the buyer and store owners.
