I would like to setup a blog where guests, or subscribers can go to a blog page (public page) and they see a form where they can submit a post (title, photo or photos, description, and some meta fields that I should be able to edit). I have seen WordPress Guest Post Plugin but I wonder if there might be better solutions out there.

Hmm I was looking for this but can't see how Gravity forms could do it..From what I understood they were just a contact form service. i will look into it more because I ended up using Quick Post widget (although its not that great) and "Post from site" sucked didnt work at all like it was supposed to. Thanks btw the "Status" plug in here works similar !

Hey Mike.
Gravity Forms lets you build custom forms for just about anything. You can create custom registrations forms, you can create forms for users to make guest posts as well. It also works with BuddyPress.
wow that is very good to know. their homepage didnt make it sound like much more than a contact form. they should re-think that to get more people to purchase it haha. thanks!!

Hiya!
I find Gravity Forms does this well. For example, I built this using it: http://lichfieldlive.co.uk/submit-your-news/
Thanks,
Phil

GravityForms is the ultimate choice. Things like this are ez-breezy lemon squeezy stuff for GF. Should take 15 minutes to integrate.

Its pretty cool.
Another competitor is:

Not sure how well that compares though.
Take care.
