Goodday @teacee
Check out this article on WPBeginnner and I think it will answer your questions:

Thanks @Arun Basil Lal
Actually, that's not my preferred method, but it gave @teacee the answer quickly using FREE tools. My method involves using Navicat Premium, but I recognize that not everyone is able to own such a fine and simple piece of software. I can do everything outlined in the article (without writing that query) in less time than it takes to type in the query) - and Navicat will take care of the database backup as well.
But, I figured @teacee would appreciate the FREE method. Personally, I'd rather open up a vein than use PHPMyAdmin. I find it sooo doggone clunky that I avoided doing anything directly in the database at all costs for a long time until someone (@aecnu) turned me on to Navicat. Now, I have ZERO fear of working directly at the database level.
Hey @teacee, be sure to let us know if this works. Also, thanks for the question because it gave me an idea for a post on wpmu.org.

Hey James,
I have heard of Navicat before, they have a trial version, maybe that will help @teacee here.
wow, have you written before? Are you one of the writers that we are trying on?

Goodday @Arun Basil Lal
I always forget that "30 Day Trial" - I need to start remembering it. By all means @teacee, download the trial version and try it as well. In fact, try both and you'll probably see why I HATE, HATE, HATE PHPMyAdmin.
Yes, @Arun Basil Lal, I am one of the people that James is trying on. I apparently made the latest cut so I'm on for the next stage.
Have a great day. Talk soon.

I used this plugin after backing up my database of course "http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-security-scan/" it seems like a ver popular plugin with almost a million downloads. It worked very easy and fast, my concerns are as with any plugin, how safe if is using a pluginbto change the database. The reason I needed to change the database was to transform my website to a multisite. The problem I had encountered was, after setting up the multisite and a few test site, there were 2 Super Admins showing up i. The users panel, but when i clicked the panel I only saw my name. I also setup the pro site plugin, marketplace and the e newsletter plugin. I had changed my password and logged out when i tried to login it keept redirecting me to some unknown address, i even sent forgot passsword and was not getting any emails to setup a new password. I went back into my site via ftp deleted the .htacess file and there was two their now one was .htaccess and .htaccess.php so i deleted them both and removed the multisite info in the wpconfig file, now i was able to login at the site main address. Sorry for the long response :)
So today i will try removing the plugin wp security scan and setup the multisite again to see what happens. Thanks for all the replies on how to change the database.

Congratulations @teacee.
Glad you got it sorted.
I actually find it more comfortable working directly in the database than using plugins sometimes because I can see what I'm doing and things hopefully don't go awry as quickly.
Regardless, the important thing is that you are good to go now.
Have a great Sunday.

Thanks James, I could have worked manually in the database as well, but if there is a shortcut that can save me time I am all for it. Thanks for the replies and you have a great Sunday as well.
