Hello,
This is a real noob question. We opt'ed to use the WPMU Sign UP at PSEK for the Wordpress/Buddypress/bbPress installation.
I see bbPress folders so I know it is installed, but I am trying to figure out if it is the "live" forum I am using since I also a forums plugin in wp-content.
They might be the same for all I know. I was looking in the left side bar of admin for a menu item saying "bbPress" but I do not see anything. How do I confirm bbPress is "live"?

Under my BuddyPress->Components I have "Discussion Forums" checked.
Under my BuddyPress->Forums I have the same screen as you show, but Group Forums is already installed. There is a message stating "You may use an existing bbPress installation if you have one." but I did not see anwhere for me to select bbPress. So am I running bbPress and is there no setup?

So your not able to access the bbPress admin area?
BuddyPress does indeed utilise the bbPress forums. The same guy who works on BP also works on the BB plugin. :-)
Anyway, within your BuddyPress admin area there are options for bbPress. I've attached screenshots for you.
Take care.

Well that option "Group Forums" is just that, its for group forums so each group in your BuddyPress install can have their own forums.
You will see there that you can also install side wide forums. The features of each are displayed on the admin page in my screenshot.
Group Forums is not the same as have the bbPress plugin installed on its own.
Take care.

So "Group Forums" is the wordpress forum and "Site Wide" would be bbPress?
Thanks,
Rhek

Nope.
BuddyPress implements them so they can be used by groups.
If you look at the bottom of the BuddyPress website you will see the relation ;-)
They are joint projects.
