It would be good if you could develop a plugin that brings WordPress & WHMCS (www.whmcs.com) together.
I know there is a pro plugin out there that allows you to have user logged into both systems at the same time, but to have WPMUdev do it, with your style and support could be very useful (and also bring in more members).

Sounds useful for sure and we've had some mentions of WHMCS support in various threads and via pre-sale emails. I'll run this by the rest of the team over here in case they have some thoughts to add.
@Aphrodite, in the words of Mason, that's quite a list in that thread! :)
@Aphrodite - That sounds like a good system, and one that would be extremly useful.
I've ended up using WHMCS as I've decided to offer basic hosting services as a reseller, and the host I'm using provides WHMCS free. The more I look at it, the more I like it. SAometimes it is easier and better to build something on top of an already built system.
@DavidM - If there is any interest in this, I'm happy to help with any beta testing required, or further ideas. For example, I've noticed that a company is providing a system for creating sites on a MultiSite install via WHMCS, which would be good. Also, linking ProSites in with this could be a goo way to go.
WHMCS Bridge does already exist, but to use the pro version which allows you to use your WP site users to access WHMCS, you have to pay an annual fee, and it doesn't work that well from my experience so far.
I think you must be a bit of a mind reader :) Though this doesn't deal with the wp/wmhcs integration, it does deal with another problem I have with a WP provisioning script.
Thanks for that, a few points coming over to you :o)

Many big hitters (domain and hosting companies) use WHMCS, creating something which integrates well and is supported with a solid gaurentee could entice those larger companies to offer WordPress hosted services as well. Rather than just Fantastico/Softaculous cPanel type stuff.
I've just started to use the commercial version of that plugin for WordPress provisioning, and it works well, but with a few problems (such as having to pay for a quarterly/annual license & slow support).
One of the main problems with it, is that you cannot select a username/password for it, so you have to go with whatever username is given.
Having said that, it is very good for getting the job done with no work from the user or host - but it needs something more.

Hey Joe. :-)
I suppose for basic sites it works well then, but I'd like to see a plugin take advantage of the Pro Sites levels whilst keeping the billing with WHCMS.
I agree with that. In my tests, I've made it a free service, but can just as easily put a price on it with WHMCS. It would be good to be able to it as a free service, then upgrade usign Pro Sites.
It would also solve the problem of 'pay to blog'.
So this would mean linking in Pro Sites to WHMCS too, though this would be good, as you could do special offers such as if a user pays for Pro Sites, they automatically receive other things, such as ebooks, which would be placed in their downloads area of WHMCS.
I think this would be a challenge, but also think that it is one that would bring many more members just for that one plugin, in much the same way as Pro Sites & Supporter brings in members because of that single plugin.
WHMCS is used by many people and WordPress is too, so to have the ability to link the two in such a way would be an awesome plugin, and being very English I don't use the word Awesome that often :o)

All just ideas right now though :o)

There was talk about purchasing domains and domain mapping. This obviously goes further but is a logical progression.
Keen to hear more +1s!

Well... This already exists :

Why not offering a concurrent solution with hostbill ?? ^^

Thanks Joe ^_^ . I'd like to hear your experience with that script when you decide to use it.

I have to speak to the boss (aka wife) and she'll let me know when I can get hold of that. It does look pretty good though.

How about some WHMCS to WordPress Multisite provisioning?
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/remote-provisioning/
I spotted this the other day, not tested and there appears to be a commercial version with extra bells and whistles.
Here is my dream though, I posted here before.
WHMCS --> WordPress Multisite provisioning.
Expiry, suspension, etc.
Pro sites could easily tap into the WHMCS API and could have a WHMCS module to provision sites and accounts with Pro Sites.
Domain name integration would be good. ie purchase domain, mapping done instantly, the client need not lift a finger. Or the host for that matter.
Anyway, thats some of what I would love to see. :-)

I like the idea of the customer purchases a domain name and its mapped automatically :-)

As an addition to pro sites, for sure, but it's *such* a challenge to get right... will be interested to hear what Aaron thinks about this.
