I've specified help text for each step in my wizard, but I'm not seeing it anywhere as I page through an example. Where should it be showing up? There aren't any examples in the plugin screenshots.

Glad to see you on the Community and thank you for this question.
I was actually searching for the 'Help' text as well and tested in both single and Multisite WP, as well as administrator and as an author and found that it only appears when you hover the mouse over the step. Please see my screenshot as reference.
I will ask the Developer for feedback as to whether this is the way it was designed to work.

It would be ideal if it were like the help bubbles that are included in Ultimate Facebook or on a fresh install of WordPress. Or even as an admin box at the top of the page. I don't expect many novice users will think to mouse over the steps to get help text.

It would be cool with a kinda of bubble over question mark.
