Hey guys, just a little announcement. The latest version of MarketPress includes a nifty importer that can import products from your previous WP e-Commerce plugin store. Our goal is to make migrating to what we think is the greatest shop plugin as painless as possible.
If WP e-Commerce 3.8+ is activated on your blog, the importer will show as a new tab under Products->Store Settings.
Let me know how it goes! We'd like to add importers for other popular plugins as well, any suggestions?

Awesome! One more reason to switch. I have only used wp-ecommerce but I am guessing people may want to see shopp import as well and is cart66 wordpress?
I seem to be having a problem with this importer. I keep getting 500 errors when batching all of my wp-e over to marketpress. I realize its an internal server problem, however Its not more descript then that. Is there specific serverside settings that I missed somewhere?
I am getting 500 internal server error like crazy too after I tried to import my wpec products to marketpress as well. I had to call my server host and ask them. They found that more than 25 processes were going at one time so it triggered the 500 internal server error. The problem is that since it was on a shared server and add-on domain it caused ALL my websites to display this server error. I panicked. Luckily my host, Hostgator, quickly cleared all the processes and the error subsided.
Unfortunately, the problem keeps returning.

Can either of you give me the actual error log messages? And how many product were you importing? I don't know how it could trigger 25 processes! It's just a simple loop with no external calls.

@Aaron I have a hole bunch of customer sites that is on WP e-Commerce 3.8+ I need to:
1) Move the sites over to BlogLines.co.za
2) I need to export there products from WP e-Commerce 3.8+
3) I need to then import there products to Market Press (ROCKS OUT THE BOX)
If i add Mp to there sites and import from WP e-Commerce 3.8+ is there a way to export the "NEW" products from there sites to there now home on BlogLines.co.za

YOu don't have to export, if MP is installed on the same site as WPecommerce is/was then just use the importer tool. You can't select a subset to import, just all of them. So if you are saying you want to divide it into 2 sessions you will need to delete the products you've already imported.

@Aaron Ok so the first part will work Ie Getting there sites over to MP no problem with that NOW lets say i have done all of that NOW i want to move there sites over to a new domain Ie
mysite.com must move to shop1.bloglines.co.za and then get a domain parked to mysite.com
So my question is simple is there a exporter for MarketPress so i can use the products on a norther website.

If you are just moving the db over then that takes care of everything. If you want to use the import/export in WP that should work fine too as it uses custom post types that can be exported.

@Aaron I have to say it again MarketPress ROCK The standard WordPress exporter shows the products and guess what i have just imported them as products from BlogLines.co.za
@Aaron. The error displayed was: 500 internal server error.
Since Marketpress import requires wpec to be 3.8 or higher, a wpec version upgrade the previous day could have contributed to the issue when it updated my products. I have 507 products!
The error could have started at the wpec upgrade I had done the previous day.
I wonder if Greg (username - knowescape) had done the same thing when he/she had gotten 500 internal server errors too?
