For the automatic linking feature I just want one instance of each word to link per post. It becomes a mess of links if I use the word 'Google' multi times in a posts and they all become links. How do I make it so only the first instance of Google becomes a link and not the other in the post?

Hiya,
It isn't possible to do so at the moment but that's a good point - I'll move this to feature requests and ask the developer to take a look at adding it in.

Care to share what plugin you found that links the way you want to?
I just posted a similar request in the forums (limiting number of links), but seeing how your post is 11 months old I don't know how high a priority this is right now.

Ok, just searched a while and found SEO Smart Links which looks pretty similar, but has the limit options (links per page, links per URL, links per keyword).
Since I'm using the Headway Theme, this is basically all I needed to add.

+1 for limiting automatic linking. I can't use it without this added ability.
