Ok guys, this is what you have been begging for for years!
2.0 - 12/30/2010
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Major rewrite! Required for the latest versions of WPMU DEV plugins.
- 3.1 compatibility
- Auto-updates for compatible themes/plugins! Bulk auto-upgrades as well!
- Transparent integration into the WordPress update system: Counts, plugin/theme pages with sorting
- New release notices
- Optional special offer notices
- More admin notice control
- Quick links to instructions and support
- Instant preview of changelogs
This is a beta release, so please test away! Especially autoupdates, no warranty on those, but we've had great success testing so far.
Good luck, and let me know your feedback! This is very important to get right as it will soon be required to be installed to use any of our themes/plugins.
Also be aware that only a subset of our themes/plugins are currently auto-update capable. We'll be marking as many as we can that way very soon. Here are a few confirmed that you can test with:
-MarketPress
-Membership
-Ultimate Translate
-Chat
-Most of our newer themes.
Install by dropping the /wpmudev-updates/ folder into /plugins/ and then (Network) Activate it. You will also need to delete any existing update-notifications.php file if you have it in /mu-plugins/. This release is compatible with regular WP as well as Multisite.

Here on my test server it saves the API key and the settings, the only problem i see is that it keeps reminding me to upgrade the update plugin from Version 2.0 to version 1.4.
Hi Aaron, i removed the old plugin before installing the new beta, i updated using the link and still get the warning. I have attached two files, one that shows the warning and the other showing the plugin status, hope this helps. FYI am using WP 3,1 RC1.
Hope this helps, if you need me doing more tests just say it.

Ok, that list is just the installed plugins, it's not saying any of them need updating (they would be highlighted pink and have a download button).
I'm not sure why it is still showing you that notice though as there are no available updates. Can you copy the value of the 'wdp_un_updates_available' option here? If running single WP its in the blog options table, if multisite look in the sitemeta table.

Request : an option to close the update alert by session. The alert text override sometimes some item in the admin, would be good to allow to close it for current session :)

yes thats it but in the delay just deactivated it ^^
Strangely, I modified the text in the code (the one overiding things in admin) an just kept "wpmudev upgrades" but surprisingly the whole text still appear !
AND
still have the red "1" in the menu, but no update at all in the list availbale Oo
I have a membership through November, but it was a prize that I won. I used to be a paying member before that. When I enter my api, the page reloads, the plugin works, but the api field is empty and pink. The admin only options are not available to me. Is this because my membership status shows as cancelled? Even though that is the status, I do have a full membership for 11 more months. Shouldn't I be able to access the admin only options?
No IP or domain checking for this plugin API. So when you save it just goes empty, and doesn't give a message at the top? I'm not talking about the message on other pages other than WPMUDEV. Are you on Multisite or normal WP?
I enter the api key, update changes, the page refreshes, and the api box remains pink with no error message. The message in the red box on the top remains on all other admin pages. I've tried deactivating plugins, but still couldn't get it to work.
But, then I tried something different and it works (sort of). I was logged in as an administrator but trying to enter the code while in the backend of a subsite. The subsite has a mapped domain. Once I went to the backend of the main site, the api key saved!
Aaron - I thought so too - but if you are on other blogs then on the grey bar at the top over at the right hand side where is says "Howdy" you should see a Network Admin link just before the Log Out link
We try to tag all of the threads with what they relate to. You should see a square image at the upper right of this page. The link to the plugin is right above it.
You can also find all of the plugins on a single page here:

As a tester who always needs to make sure I have the most up-to-date plugins this, is a dream come true!
Folks, please give this a whirl and let us know! It's rockin' for me but obviously we want to hear from lots of different setups and installs!
Thanks!

I really like this plugin. But it does not keep the WPMU DEV API Key saved. Everytime I access this page I have to enter it.

Anything in your webserver's error logs? I doubt it but it's good to check.

So you can save it on the settings page, and refreshing it keeps it there until you visit another page? Perhaps you didn't click "save settings"?
Member — 29th December 2010 (1 year ago) #
Hi Aaron,
I can save it on the settings page, and refreshing it keeps it there until I visit another page.
I saved the settings by clicking "Save Changes".
But yes, when I visit another page and then come back, the settings are not saved anymore.

Signo, can I get a screenshot? Also have uninstalled the old one?
Also try force updating the data with the link near the bottom of the page.

hi !
I have a strange redirect on one of my plateforms (the main one) : any click redirect me on http://domaine.com/wp-admin/?c=1
but shows me a biiig announce on news from wpmudev and ask for api on all admin pages.
The wpmudev menu is not added in super admin menu in this case Oo
works perfectly on others.

You mean dismiss it for like a day? Basically it mirrors the wp upgrade message currently. Note you can turn it off permanently.
Lifetime member! — 2nd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
permanently no, but yes a kind on "dismiss" per session/day... well a little option in setup ? ;)
Keeper of the Dark Chocolate — 2nd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
+1 for the "Go away, kid. You're bothering me" option.
Lifetime member! — 2nd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
well in fact there is the option in setting : disable upgrade notice ^^
Keeper of the Dark Chocolate — 2nd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
That disables it all together though. I thought you wanted a "dismiss for a day" option?

Does it give a "Your API Key was invalid. Please try again." error message when saving?
Lead Developer — 3rd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
I just tried your API Key on my test site with no problems.
Member — 3rd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
It doesn't give an error message or anything, but the message about needing to enter the api key went away.
Member — 3rd January 2011 (1 year ago) #
never mind, the message actually doesn't go away for me

Ahh, interesting. In WP 3.1 the network admin menu and pages can only be accessed from the main site.

Seems like a very simply question, but where do I download the plugin?

Look for the Download bar near the middle.
We try to tag all of the threads with what they relate to. You should see a square image at the upper right of this page. The link to the plugin is right above it.
You can also find all of the plugins on a single page here:
