Multisite Analytics

Plugin Installation and Use Instructions

To install:

1. Download the plugin file
2. Unzip the file into a folder on your hard drive
3. Upload /google-analytics-async/ folder to /wp-content/plugins/ folder on your site
4. Login to your admin panel for WordPress or Multisite and activate the plugin:
   • On regular WordPress installs - visit Plugins and Activate the plugin.
   • For WordPress Multisite installs - Activate it blog-by-blog (say if you wanted to make it a Supporter premium plugin), or visit Network Admin -> Plugins and Network Activate the plugin.

Basic Usage:

Go to Network Admin > Settings > Google Analytics and enter your Google Analytics tracking code

• Note:  Individual sites can access and add their own analytic code by going to Settings>Google Analytics

Google Analytics and Multisite:

Network Activation of Google Analytics provides each site with the ability to use their own Analytics account.  Additionally, you can track stats in one of the following ways (screenshot above):

1.  Network-Wide Tracking

This is the code you'll use to see the entirety of your network (as opposed to the main site only).

• If you are using a subdomain install and want to also track their activity you'll want to also check the radio button next to 'Subdomain tracking'

2.  Admin Pages Tracking

This allows you to track both the front-end and admin side of your WordPress install.  By default this is disabled.

3. Page load times Tracking

Google now allows you to track the load times of individual pages on your site.  Enable this setting to track this data and view it in your Google Analytics dashboard.

4. Google Analytics Supporter

When using the Supporter plugin you can limit Google Analytics tracking to those sites only.
