A simple to use mu-plugin that gives your users all the power of a facebook style messaging system.

This plugin is often used with:

  1. Communities plugin - this provides the ability to easily send, receive and read your friend's emails from inside your blog dashboard.
  2. Friends plugin - Lets your users 'friend' each other, display funky widgets with avatar mosaics of all their friends on the site
  3. Avatars plugin - provides your friend's avatars

It's really very simple, but incredibly effective! Once installed, your users will get an 'Inbox' tab (under their Settings Tab) like you see below:

Now, under that tab they'll have the opportunity to read their messages, send new messages, review sent messages, export their messages or turn on and off notification (by email) of messages.

Sending messages

Sending a message is as simple as clicking on New Message adding the person(s) username, writing your message and clicking Send!

Message Notification

Users will receive an email notifying them of new messages! And they can switch off email notifications using the notification tab (if they prefer).

Replying

And, when it comes to inbox managements it couldn't be more simple, users can view, reply to or remove messages at will (and of course, if they want to export them, they'll never miss an old one).
