Start by reading Installing plugins section in our comprehensive WordPress and WordPress Multisite Manual if you are new to WordPress.

To install:

1. Download the plugin file

2. Unzip the file into a folder on your hard drive

3. Upload /social-marketing/ folder to /wp-content/plugins/folder on your site

4. Login to your admin panel for WordPress or Multisite and activate the plugin:

On regular WordPress installs – visit Plugins and Activate the plugin.
For WordPress Multisite installs – Activate it blog-by-blog (say if you wanted to make it a Supporter premium plugin), or visit Network Admin > Plugins and Network Activate the plugin.

Getting Started

1. Choose your display settings on the settings page. Click on any of the blue icons to find out more information about that particular setting. Click Save Changes and go back to Tutorialwhen finished.

2. Create your advert. Pay special attention to the Set up Social Marketing section as this will determine what content you are sharing or providing (such as a coupon code or free download) and the Social Media Servicessection which allows you to choose which methods are allowed for sharing. Click Publish when finished.

Note: Social Marketing uses custom post types for Advert creation. Viewing these posts will not give you the desired results. Instead, you need to complete Step 3 of adding the Advert to a separate post or page in WordPress.

3. Insert your add into any post or page in WordPress through the new tinyMCE button in the content editor
