Coming to a Forum Near You: bbPress Update to be Released Any Day

bbPressYay! There’s going to be a bbPress update any day. It’s felt like ages since there has been any major news on the project but on the bbPress blog John James Jacoby has announced that RC1 of bbPress 1.0.3 is going to be arriving any day. This is exciting news for anyone who’s been using bbPress to run their forums.

On the WordCast blog Lorelle has announced some of the new features of bbPress:

  • Email notifications for follow-up posts
  • Anonymous posting
  • WordPress plugin version (W00t!)
  • Improvements to tags and taxonomies
  • Improvements to stick post features
  • Increase subforum limits
  • Improvements to caching and trashing
  • Faster and lighter

If you’re really keen you could get involved with the development process. JJJ has asked for people to get involved with the bi-monthly development chat. If you want to get involved with the WordPress community this could be a great opportunity to get involved with an exciting project.
