How to Remove the Comments Count Column From WordPress Pages

A comments count column on the Dashboard » Pages menu can seem a little silly when using WordPress as a CMS, especially when you have comments turned off for pages.

Here’s a little trick I found over at WPsnipp.com from author Kevin Chard. Add this to your functions.php file and it will remove the comments count column for pages:

{code type=php}
function remove_pages_count_columns($defaults) {
unset($defaults[‘comments’]);
return $defaults;
}
add_filter(‘manage_pages_columns’, ‘remove_pages_count_columns’);
{/code}

Now your listed pages will look like this with the column removed:

If you’re one who likes to tinker with your WordPress admin area to remove everything that you don’t need, then this is a good hack for you. Find more helpful snippets over at WPsnipp.com.
