Submit Your Site To The WPMU WordPress Design Competition!
You may have noticed that we introduced the WPMU 100 on Monday and issued a call for votes. For those who don’t know, the WPMU 100 will be a ranking table of the best WordPress-focused blogs in existence. For anyone interested in WordPress, the WPMU 100 will be a valuable resource.
Today, we are doing something a little different. It’s competition time!
How Good Are You?
If you’re reading this, you are probably passionate about WordPress website design. But how good are you? How well do you compare to your WPMU-reading peers? Now is the time to find out!
Today we are launching a competition to find the best website designed by a WPMU reader. There is just one rule – the site must be designed in WordPress. Anything else goes.
How The Designs Will Be Judged
Each site submitted for consideration will be judged by the following criteria:
- Aesthetics and color contrast – does your site look pretty?
- Presentation – is your site uncluttered and easy to surf?
- Responsiveness – does your site display well on mobile devices?
- Speed – does your site load quickly?
Most importantly, we want to be blown away by your design! We want to be impressed by how you have manipulated WordPress to produce a unique and attractive website.
Please note that it is only the homepage that will be judged.
What’s In It For You?
The top 5 designs will be featured when the results are announced. Each ranking website will of course be featured with a link back to the site itself, in addition to another link of the author’s choosing (perhaps to their business’ site or Facebook page).
Furthermore, the designer of the top-ranking site will win a free 3 month membership to WPMU DEV, worth $159!
What Are You Waiting For?
It is time to submit your site(s) for consideration! You have three options for submission – via the comments section on this post, the relevant status update on the WPMU DEV Facebook page, or by using the #WPMUComp hashtag in Twitter.
Submissions will be accepted up until midnight (EST) on Wednesday 8th February, and the winning sites will be published on Wednesday 15th February.
When all designs have been received, they will be shortlisted, and the winners will then be picked by the WPMU team. The designers of the winning site will be asked to verify their sites by including a small random text string in its HTML.
Terms and Conditions
- Each competitor may submit an unlimited number of sites
- All sites must be verified as the work of the submitting party
- Judge’s decisions are final
- No entries will be accepted after the closing date
