Upfront Gets Full MarketPress Skinning & Compatibility

Our super slick drag and drop WordPress theme framework, Upfront, now has both WooCommerce AND MarketPress custom designs in all themes and even more widget compatibility than before – sorry it took so long!

Yep, when we announced that all your WooCommerce widgets would work perfectly and look delightful with Upfront, quite a few members quite rightly called us out for not sorting out MarketPress too. Well, we listened and a month later it’s all sorted. Thanks for bearing with us.

So, that means: that every single Upfront starter theme now will display everything from MarketPress like they were meant for each other; that you can easily create brand new Upfront eCommerce themes with Upfront Builder; and that should you wish to, you can now enjoy all your eCommerce requirements right here at WPMU DEV.

And just because I know you’re keen, scroll through this post to see MarketPress looking lovely in some of our starter themes.

MarketPress Product Pages Pop

As demonstrated here by the lovely Luke + Sara theme, you can see that product listing pages look absolutely beautiful in the new Upfront + MarketPress world (see what I did there?)

Sorting by categories, ordering by whatever means you like, and generally displaying your products in the best possible light just became super, super easy!

Individual Products Look Smart

Our artisanal theme Scribe is usually more used by the hipster element than the hard-core capitalist, but now you can ship your beard-related items without a hitch.

List every product variation you can think of, from sizes to colors, and enjoy the custom CSS goodness that now comes right out-of-the-box (and is, of course, absolutely easy to tweak within Upfront, too!)

The Cart Stacks Up

Shopping carts have never looked so good! Upfront gives you complete control over how you customize the look of your online store.

Looking for a crisp and clean theme with a checkout that just screams “hit that ‘Checkout’ button”? Look no further!

Our delightful product-focused Parrot theme is exactly the kind of design you’re looking for when it comes to shifting that new tech toy or Danish design.

And now it’s as easy as assembling an Ikea bookshelf (Ed – you mean much easier right?) to sell your wares while enjoying the modern aesthetic.

Checkout Works A Treat

And last, but by no means least, you’ll also find that final step is always going to be a smooth and seamless transition from shopping to success.

As pictured here with our magazine-orientated theme Issue, you’ll find everything nicely aligned, shaded and ready to go.

So, from subscriptions to merch’ to anything that might take your readers’ fancy, your new shops will be headline news (yep, I just went there).

So again, sorry we took so long and we hope you’re happy with the outcome.

From here on in, you can expect that every new Upfront theme we release will be fully MarketPress-ready and that you’ll see us continuing to develop new features and functionality into MarketPress itself so that you can have an eCommerce solution for your WordPress site that you don’t have to pay $$$ for add-ons to make it work properly.

So give Upfront and MarketPress a whirl today or, if you’re already a MarketPress user, let us know what’s at the top of your Christmas list functionality-wise to make this a killer integration!
