2.9.2 Upgrade Heads Up Regarding Cron / CPU Load

Just a heads up for anyone else upgrading to 2.9.2. We've noticed that cron jobs have been buggy since 2.9, with some activities relating to cron jobs working and others not working at all. It seems that upgrading to 2.9.2 from 2.9.1 seems to have fixed that issue on our install and as soon as we installed 2.9.2, WP-Cron went absolutely nuts taking our CPU load (2 cpus) to around 40. After about seven or 8 minutes everything started to come down to around a load of 10 or so and after about 20 minutes everything was fairly normal load wise.

During that time it seems like all the cron activity that had been neglected due to failed cron jobs for weeks or months in 2.9.1 was catching up, from pingbacks to plugin activity like automatic database backups via WP-DBManager, other plugin activities and lots of other cron scheduled processes were all hitting at once. We were even having issues with expired WP Super Cache pages being collected via Garbage and all those hit at the same minute as the upgrade as well....

This may be something isolated to our install, who knows.... just a heads up for others in case you have the same experience, things should work themselves out once wp-cron finishes up.....
