403 Forbidden

A few of my users have been getting “403 Forbidden message” when they try and access our site.

Last time were all together under the same IP address this happened as well

Is there a way to ensure that this never happens again?

Is the htaccess file the cause of the problem?

Is plug-in is responsible for this?

    Hey there.

PHP can return headers so it might not just be htaccess.

Can you check your htaccess file for anything like DENY or DENY ALL FROM. Well anything which isn’t WordPress.

    Any security type plugins?

Any plugins which allow you to blog members or IPs?

Anything on the server which might also do this, perhaps anything combatting brute force hack attempts?

    Let me know.
