Access Restrictions for Custom Post Type

Can you add the ability to restrict an entire Custom Post Type (CPT) from certain membership levels?

As a workaround, I was able to setup a URL group as http://domain.com/cpt/ and https://domain.com/cpt/ (but HAVE to turn on regular expression) -- assuming the Custom Post Type type = 'cpt'

But with the ability to have custom post types with separate permalinks ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-type-permalinks/ ) or with the possibility to change permalink structure (e.g. to http://domain.com/?cpt=posttitle ) and then having remember to edit/rename those URL groups, it just seems like protecting a CPT shouldn't be that difficult programmatically, especially if you already enable Posts, Pages, Categories, etc.

In addition, please allow access control over CPT taxonomies too.

Thanks.
