Activity streams are not picking up my posts on BuddyPress assigned to a sub-site

My BuddyPress is located on a subsite and it suddenly stopped taking the activity feed from the network. I don’t know why. I disabled the plugins, disabled the network plugins, and it still didn’t work.

I moved the BP reference point over to the main site again and it worked, but that’s not what I want. So I shifted it back to the subsite (through assigning the BP_blog in the wp-config file) to see if it reset, which it didn’t.

    Hi Griffin,

    Hope you’re doing well

I had a look at your site and I can see the issue there where new content is not added to activity feed but I’m unable to replicate this on my installation with the same steps followed.

I did notice that there are HTTPS errors when I try navigating from one subsite to another and it could be that this is blocking BP to access your subsites and pulling the data.

I would suggest with starting with taking care of these HTTPS errors and then see if it works.

If that doesn’t make any difference try disabling all of your plugins except BP and switch to default WP theme on both subsite that’s set as main BP site and on the subsite where you add some content/activity and see if it updates after that.

    Best regards,

    Predrag

Hey Predrag. I turned off the SSL and this didn’t change anything. I also disabled all network plugins, and all local plugins. And changed the theme to WP-standard.

    This is what is shown on my wp-config file –> define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 245 );

which does not work. if I shift it back over to ‘1’ it works. so weird. as you can see –>

    Not sure what to do.

No. It continues to malfunction. It works when the BP is stored on the main site, but not on a sub-site. I just tried another post and it didn’t go through. Even when I post a post on the same site that the Activity Stream is displaying, it does not show.

    ???

    Hi Griffin,

Oh, so activity stream that updates on main site does properly transfer to subsite when you make the switch?

I had a look around for similar reports like this but only ones I was able to find are like 5 years old and the issue was with BP being activated per subsite instead of network but that’s not the case on your site.

I’m afraid that this is too specific to BP running on your installation and it would be best starting new thread on their support forums and they might be able to assist you further with this.
