Hello @puccino I use a plugin called Cool Video Gallery. It works great and you can place video's pretty well anywhere on your pages. Uses short codes. You can see my home page at

    http://www.kausvideo.com

to see it in action. Before someone told me about this plugin I was trying to use embed codes from youtube and everything was a mess. This works great!

Go to add plugins and search for cool video gallery and install.

Let me know what you think!

Hello @puccino and @KimberlyL I don't recall if I was using buddypress wall before or not. The company I used to have maintain my stuff retired. All I know is that since I started using the Cool Video Gallery plugin I haven't ran into any issues that used used to.

    Hello,
I just want to share my experience with video embedding within buddypress.

I have my own videos and I decide to host them on Amazon S3 for best performances.
I use a great service called "Easy Video Player".
You import your video in Easy video player, you customize your player and options.
When your player is ready, you copy your code directly in your activity stream.

Different kinds of code are available (javascript with or without lightbox effect, iframe, object).
With buddypress, I use the iframe code.

    It works like a charm.

    Best regards

Hello @visitonweb @KimberlyL and @puccino I'm not familiar with the Amazon S3 site, is that who hosts your website? The nice thing about the Cool Video Gallery is that you can upload (or in the event your video files are Hugh you can FTP) the files to your own server. The advantage to that is you have complete control.
I've had videos on youtube, vimeo etc and used the embedded code to put into my site. Some themes don't always play nice with this setting. Also Someone (probably one of my competitors) flagged the site and my video was removed without mt knowledge. Not cool. This seemed strange to me as I found portions of one of my copyrighted videos used by someone else who got paid for basically putting together Highlight type reels and he doesn't even own a video camera! He just steals everyone Else's work and Ironically myself and 3 other videographers whose work was stolen complained to YouTube. We had to jump through hoops to prove that the original footage was ours and yet that video still remains on youtube.

All in all there appear to be several choices out there. I saved a ton of time trying all of them as I was referred to the Cool Video Gallery as the one that had the least amount of problems as suggested by a group of professional videographers.

Anyway let me know what ended up working best for you.

    Good Luck!

    Greetings Everyone,

    @Dean

I'm not familiar with the Amazon S3 site, is that who hosts your website?

Amazon S3 is a CDN (Content Delivery Network) which allows the streaming/delivery of static content to your web site faster then on a good hosting platform for those with less then good hosting.

I personally tried Amazon S3 some time ago before I owned my own servers and it worked good with the cheap hosting I had then, but now with my Dual Xeon Quad Core servers my opinion is simply that it bites - Can't touch this.

Nothing but nothing compares to good hosting, yet many folks are trying to build million dollar web sites on four dollar hosting. Rather then upgrade their hosting they will go with CDN's paying them what could be accomplished by just having a good hosting platform to begin with.

I was hoping to find a recent ticket where a Member told the tale of hosting so well and in a way that I am not at a liberty to say.

@puccino if i remember correctly you are one of the few with a real dedicated server and there have been enough recommendations in this thread to include your own current testing.

I am happy to know you are well on the track to getting this issue resolved to your satisfaction.

    Cheers, Joe
