Adding buddypress features to multisite blogs discussion

Hi

I am trying to figure out the best way to add buddypress features to multisite blogs?

Obviously, the main install can have buddypress but when you try to integrate social features to your network blogs it goes pair shape.

WPMU.org has a tip on getting the main buddypress groups/blog lists/members to your multisite blogs. https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/daily-tip-want-to-run-buddypress-on-multiple-blogs-in-your-wpmu-install-heres-how/

iMath has made a plugin to display the avatar and link of members/groups on your multisite blogs from the main buddypress install. imath.owni.fr/2011/05/15/bowe-codes/

So, how do you create a buddypress group on a multisite blog? that is only available on the multisite blog? short answer - it seems you cannot.

There seems to be a lack of integration between WPMU/WPMS and Buddypress.

Are there any experienced fellows out there with insight on a more BP integrated network of sites?

Cheers,

John

    Greetings Johnny,

Thank you for your feedback regarding Buddy Press and MultiSite integration.

Regarding Buddy Press 1.5.5 exclusively, have you tried to use it on sub sites?

The reason I asked is that on one of my personal networks I have not had any issues that I am aware of incorporating Buddy Press 1.5.5 into sub sites.

Any news from the Buddy press forums regarding this subject?

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

    Hiya,

That's pretty much a correct statement at this point. This WILL change but probably not until 1.7 or later. We'll see, but for now a multi-network or modified plugin like the ones you mention are the only options.

Thank NAME, for their help.
