Adding favicon to Upfront

Where do I go to add a favicon to Upfront?

  • James

Upfront currently does not have an option to add a favicon through the theme itself; however, you can add a favicon.ico file via your preferred FTP application. Make sure the file is located in the same folder as the root WordPress install, not in the wp-content folder. As a side note, most modern browsers (except Safari as they do not display favicons natively) support multiple file types for favicons. For example you could have a favicon.ico, favicon.png, and favicon.gif. In all browsers, if a .ico is available it will use that file instead of the others. But, if no .ico file is found it will use the alternative.

    Hello Troy Media

    Hope you are doing well!

As James mentioned Upfront doesn't have an option to add a favicon. You can add a favicon with the Ultimate Branding plugin; enable "Multisite Favicons" module and add your custom image as a favicon. Please see attached screenshot:

If you are not a fan of the plugins there is another way around. Activate default WordPress theme, go to Appearance > Customizer > Site Identity and add a favicon. Switch back to the Upfront theme and the previously set favicon will remain in place.

P.S.: Ultimate Branding plugin also provides cool features to brand the backend of your site
