Adding more input fields to Membership Pro Register Page

Hi there

The register page has a couple of input fields, which are fine but is there a way to add more?
For example - Address, Telephone Number etc.

These details then - can they be stored in users account?

    Hey @Franco, hope you're doing well today! :slight_smile:

    There sure is! :slight_smile:

    If you were to install BuddyPress on your site, and enable the "Extended Profiles" module inside of:

    Settings -> BuddyPress

    You would be able to create additional fields for members to fill out upon signup by going to:

    Users -> Profile Fields

    (you can disable the other modules inside of BuddyPress if you're not wanting them active)

    These details then - can they be stored in users account?

    Yep, they'd be stored in the user's account. :slight_smile:

    Hope this helps!

    Kind Regards,
    Michael

    thats fantastic! thank you so much for that! :slight_smile:

    While i have your attention can i ask - where are the pages or the settings for the page layouts that buddy press produces?
    For example - when i go into the profile page of one of the members the page has the typical left bar - search field / archives / etc. I would like to get rid of that and have it full page.

    Is this controlled by the theme or buddy press?

    Hey @Franco, my apologies for the delay here!

    While i have your attention can i ask - where are the pages or the settings for the page layouts that buddy press produces?
    For example - when i go into the profile page of one of the members the page has the typical left bar - search field / archives / etc. I would like to get rid of that and have it full page.

    If your theme has a page template for that, then you'd be able to edit that page template, else BuddyPress would determine how the page is laid out by default. If you're up to creating a custom template of your own (which would be inserted inside a child theme), I'd start by checking out these two articles:

    https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/
    https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/template-hierarchy/

    Otherwise, if you'd rather have someone else develop the theme templates, you'll want to post a job for this on our Jobs Board:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/wordpress-development/

    Though for something like this:

    For example - when i go into the profile page of one of the members the page has the typical left bar - search field / archives / etc. I would like to get rid of that and have it full page.

    You may be able to take care of that with a little CSS code, inserted into a plugin like this:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

    oh and where can i set where the user is taken when they select log out?

    You can use a plugin like this to handle that sort of behavior:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/logout-redirect/

    Hope this helps! :slight_smile:

    Kind Regards,
    Michael
