Am I able to import a snapshot into a new subdomain? If So, how would I do it?

    Hello @Gabriel,

I hope you are having a good day and thanks for the asking.

Are you talking about subdomain in context of multi-site or its something else ? If you are talking about in context of multi-site then its very easy process, just take snapshot of your any blog via Snapshots > Add Snapshot. Then restore it by specifying blog id or its title on restore setting configuration page to successfully restore snapshot.

You can know more about how to do above process on our products usage page https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/snapshot/#product-usage

    Best Regards,

    Hello @Gabriel,

I hope you are having a good day and thanks for clarifying situation.

Yes you can import snapshot into new subdomain. All you need to do is just install snapshot on domain where you want to import your existing snapshot and then you'll need to go to Snapshot > Import page to import your snapshots.

You'll have 4 options to import your existing snapshots.
#1) Remote ftp: When downloading from a remote FTP server you must ensure the file is moved to a location where it will be accessible via a simple http:// or https:// URL.

#2) Dropbox: If you are attempting to download a Dropbox Snapshot archive written to the App/WPMU DEV Snapshot you first need to copy the file to a public folder within your Dropbox account before grabbing the public link.

#3) Amazon S3: When downloading a file from S3 you need to ensure the file is public.

#4) Local Archives: for this you'll need to move your snapshot archives to domain's destination folder. Default destination folder will be shown to you on Snapshot > Import > Local Archive .

Once you'll import snapshot, it'll be shown on Snapshot > All Snapshots page and will be ready to be restored on your command.

    I hope this helps you.

    Cheers,
    Milan.
