    Hi @msFran,

We don't do any hosting, we just offer premium plugins/themes & support for people using wordpress multisite.

You might find the following manual helpful.

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/wordpress-multisite/

Do you already have a wordpress multisite, if not, do you have a wordpress site installed? You use a single site and then enable the existing site to be a network. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

    Hope this helps

    Hi Vaughan
Thank you for clarifying my path and was on the wrong network..

I was on a welcome page that says "Hello World" with a JH logo on the address bar. Now can you find out if I registered with Wp.org monthly membership before deleting the information I have on the other site.

I'm a new starter and have justhost.net as my hosting provider for the next 48 month do I need to contact them for any type of set up needed for a multisite, my domain is bedpals.net and creating a network in love and relationship for lonely singles nothing X-rated related.

How to put Wp.org logo on the desktop to be more accessible?

I am a Newbie and will follow the instruction you send me, and if allowed I would like my website set up to be reviewed remotely by Wp.org and you.. before going public...Thanks again Vaughan

    Regards,
    MsFran

    Hello again Vaughan,
I have 2 dashboard and may have a wordpress set up, yesterday I contacted Wp once I realized that I was working on 2 different network at the time, feel free to go to my domain site, because the other one did and said I was set up.

If you can help me out I would like you to set up my network as a multisite and spare me more lost time and guess work, now I'm confuse by what is going on..
Knowing that any bit you do for me will put me faster to what I should be doing by now ..like adding content to the network instead of starting over and re-learn what to do again..will be a big break for me and appreciate your time, thanks Vaughan.. MsFran

    Hey @MsFran,

Now can you find out if I registered with Wp.org monthly membership before deleting the information I have on the other site.

WordPress.org doesn't provide monthly memberships, not sure how they tie into this.

I'm a new starter and have justhost.net as my hosting provider for the next 48 month do I need to contact them for any type of set up needed for a multisite, my domain is bedpals.net and creating a network in love and relationship for lonely singles nothing X-rated related.

As @Vaughan mentioned earlier, this would be what you'd be looking at to set up your network site:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

For setting up a wildcard domain, your host has this support article available that talks about setting one up:

    https://my.justhost.com/cgi/help/527

I have 2 dashboard and may have a wordpress set up, yesterday I contacted Wp once I realized that I was working on 2 different network at the time, feel free to go to my domain site, because the other one did and said I was set up.

    - Not sure where the 2 Dashboards are?
    - By "I contacted Wp", do you mean you posted on the WordPress.org forums, or did you contact your web host?
    - Tried going to the domain you mentioned earlier, said it wasn't valid.
    - Not sure what you mean by "because the other one did and said I was set up"?

If you can help me out I would like you to set up my network as a multisite and spare me more lost time and guess work, now I'm confuse by what is going on..

Well, we know that you're wanting a Multisite setup, but beyond that, there's a bunch of unanswered questions, like the ones posed above.

So we can serve you better, could you go into how this site is supposed to work? Is this supposed to be like a social networking site for singles?

Multisite setups are meant to have each user sign up for their own blog on your network (e.g. WordPress.com), whereas a social networking site, using something like BuddyPress, would allow users to sign up for your site, and interact with other members on the site (e.g. Facebook).

    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi MsFran,

Thanks for getting back in touch. You'll find precise instructions for installation our Dashboard plugin right through our Usage page here:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wpmu-dev-dashboard/#usage

However, that can also be done like so:

    1. In your site's admin area, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload.
    2. Press the button to locate the file, then locate and select the downloaded file on your computer.
    3. Press the install button and it'll install and you can then Activate it.

    Does that help?

We're here to assist so just let us know if you have questions on anything
    Kind Regards.

Thanks for providing that url! Looking at your site, I see you're definitely using the WordPress.org software,
as you can see from the login page:

That is an independent WordPress site not running through WordPress.com.
You should have no trouble using our service there.

We'll gladly assist with your concerns. If I could get you to post your questions to our forums here:

    Hi there,
I only just realized you may not actually have a site up and running currently so I'd like to clarify a few things.

Our products and services rely entirely on the WordPress.org software. To use that software, you'd first need a hosting solution, for which there are monthly or yearly charges involved. Hosting services can get quite expensive.

As you're just getting started, perhaps you might consider a low-cost hosting service like Hostgator:
    http://www.hostgator.com/

Hostgator provides an easy installer for WordPress so you wouldn't even need download the file and set it up manually:
    http://www.hostgator.com/apps/wordpress-hosting

There are many other hosting services, I just mention Hostgator as an easy way to get started.

Once you have a hosting provider, you can easily get a WordPress site setup and then you'll be able to use our products and services there.

    Does that make sense?
I'd love to assist with any questions on this, please feel free to ask.
    Kind Regards.

    Hi MsFran,

Working with George on this, thanks for your reply!

Each hosting service is different so I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to provide an exact step-by-step process for WordPress installation for your particular service, but fortunately, there seems to be a video tutorial on that here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAmQO2jWCZ0

But also, our online Manuals provide detailed instructions for setting up and interacting with WordPress: https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/

And any questions on any of that, you can easily ask right through our Support Forums and our super helpful support team will be right along to assist!

You can simply post your questions here: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/#question

    How does that sound?

Looking forward to getting that all sorted with ya!

    Hi MsFran,

I'm really sorry to hear you're at all disappointed, though I'm not sure I understand.

From what you described, it sounds like you do indeed have a WordPress.org website setup through justhost.net. Is that not the case?

If so, you don't need anything from wordpress.com for this all to work for you.
In case it helps, the following article from our blog covers the differences between wordpress.org and wordpress.com.
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-org-vs-wordpress-com/

On that note, could you please provide a link to your site so I could try and check on that for you?

    Kind Regards.

    Hi Ari,
I only want to know how to switch back to Wordpress.org..

I already had a domain name and hosting when looking online for a suitable template, I stumble again on Wordpress that I tried back in 03/04 and after going through a Wordpress tutorial on Multisite I wanted to go Multisite and using subdomains to create a network ...and got confused..

I contacted the site's paid membership area, and said " I am a Newbie if I become a paid member will I have access to technical support to create a multi site network ", the reply was " as a paid member consider yourself as having your own back up team".which prompted me to sign up, now it seems to me that Wordpress domain have two URL .Wp.org and Wp.com, which is customary but... Am I missing something?

My question is : Why should I be a paid member on Wp.com and go to Wp.org to download plugins etc and use their forum.for answers...Why not go to the Source which to me is ....Wordpress.org ..

I followed my hosting one click install of Wp.com by Mojo Market, then a one click install by Wp.org .and now have 2 Wp platform and 2 dashboard installed.

I want to delete everything and start over by installing Wordpress.org platform on my domain then set up the dashboard...to download the plugins needed to create my net work.....is it the right way?

I just need to start with my website and need your guidance..

    Regards,
    MsFran

There's nothing wrong with deleting everything and starting anew. I would recommend getting in touch with Just Host (your web host) about this, so that your site is created in the way you're wanting it to.

I'd also recommend watching this video of ours as well, just to see how the process of setting up a Multisite goes:

My question is : Why should I be a paid member on Wp.com and go to Wp.org to download plugins etc and use their forum.for answers...Why not go to the Source which to me is ....Wordpress.org

There's no reason to be on WordPress.com in this case, given the kind of site you're looking to set up.

Let me know if you need further assistance here.

    Hello Michael,
This morning I contacted My hosting provider and they did exactly what you suggested me to do,..I have a new Wp.org dashboard and need help finding a great theme for the Multisite network.

I also thank you for the youtube tutorial it was an excellent learning tool for me, it led me to find some amazing instructions and plugins on Buddypress.

Like you sense it Michael I'm looking to create a website that I imagine to be like a giant puzzle with no hints and clues to solve it, but knowing that at the end everything will fall into place..help me greatly .
I appreciate your intervention and asking you to help me find a great theme for the network with some color accent in the design...

    Regards,
    MsFran

Hey @MsFran, hope you're doing well this evening.

Glad to hear that your hosting provider was able to get you set up, and that the video tutorial helped you out!

As for the theme, that's kind of hard to say without further detail. However, we have posted some theme collections on our blog within the past month that may interest you:

  • MsFran

    Hey Michael,

I thank you for the list of themes and can't wait to find a super one to illustrate my network, knowing that you are looking into my progression with wordpress, and learning to use a technology of that multitude! is more than encouraging it gave me the incentive to look deeper into what wordpress should mean to me in term of having access to a technology and support needed to built my network.

I read a great deal more about Wp.org, and think that the membership gives access to plugins with tech support and great experts like you to see us "starters" make it to the finish line, I was send a link to come back and will renew asap...
What type of file can be attached to a topic?

    Warm regards.
