Anywhere to put favicon in Upfront?

Is there a place to select a favicon for this theme or does it need to be loaded via FTP?

    Hi @Jesse,

    Not an issue at all. You are always welcome here.

    You get the error message "whoops, too fast, slow down" when you try to create multiple topics in the short span of time. I can see you have created this topic and the following topic in a minute therefore you might have received this error message.

    Hi,

    You can set a favicon by uploading your favicon.ico into the upfront directory: /wp-content/themes/upfront/
    (It's also a good idea to upload it into your root folder)

    Than open the file header.php and add the below line:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/favicon.ico" />

    So you get:

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <!--[if IE 7]>
    <html class="ie ie7" <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
    <![endif]-->
    <!--[if IE 8]>
    <html class="ie ie8" <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
    <![endif]-->
    <!--[if !(IE 7) | !(IE 8)  ]><!-->
    <html <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
    <!--<![endif]-->
    <head>
    	<meta charset="<?php bloginfo( 'charset' ); ?>" />
    	<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" />
    	<link rel="profile" href="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11" />
    	<link rel="pingback" href="<?php bloginfo('pingback_url'); ?>" />
    	<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/favicon.ico" />

    	<?php wp_head(); ?>
    </head>

    <body <?php body_class(); ?>>
    	<div id="page" class="hfeed site clearfix">

    And than you have to remember that eacht time the theme gets updated you have to make the above changes again.

    Why isn't this incorporated into the theme?

      I'm curious as well,

      why isn't this incorporated into the theme?

      I think this would be a good feature to add.

      Because with Ultimate Branding, you can specify a different custom favicon for each and every subsite in your network, regardless of which themes are active. :slight_smile:

Thank NAME, for their help.
