Appoinments+ not sending confirmation emails

Appointments+ is not sending any confirmation emails.

The log under 'Settings' shows nothing for today even though I have been testing and submitting appointments.

Auto confirm = yes
Payment required = no

What could the matter be?

    Hi Michiel,

    This is really strange, everything seems ok with your settings and when I test my installation with similar setup I'm not able to replicate this issue.

    Can you try going to Settings > General and changing admin email to your massageoplocatie email and see if that makes any difference?

    Also, is there a specific reason you are still using quite outdated WP version?

    There is no special reason WP is still at 4.2 (If it works, it works.) I just tried to update to 4.5.1 but I got a message: Update failed because some files could not be copied…

    What should be my next move?

    Some servers don't allow sending emails from email address that's not hosted with them, for example, on my test site I must use email that ends up with my site domain and is hosted on their server otherwise no email will be sent.
    After you made this change I can see that the logs are showing that email is sent however I'm not seeing it in my inbox, I also sent one confirmation email to your admin email address, can you check if you received that one?

    There is no special reason WP is still at 4.2 (If it works, it works.) I just tried to update to 4.5.1 but I got a message: Update failed because some files could not be copied…

    That's understandable but older WP versions can leave your site vulnerable to attacks so I would suggest investigating this further in order to perform the update or do it manually if needed.
    I suggest having a full backup ready when performing the update, automatically or manually.

    Thanks for your advice. I have tried to update but it failed. I have asked the hosting provider for assistance but no word yet, so WP is still at 4.2.

    The version of Appointments is started out with did send emails to my own address (which is at a different domain).

    Could you give me a quick recap? What is our next step?

    Hi Michiel,

    A+ didn't have any updates that should affect how your emails are sent as this is done from your server.
    So the admin received copy of confirmation email that's sent to users but I didn't get confirmation email, so it is sending some emails, need to figure out now why others are not going through.

    Since the A+ emails are showing in Log can you ask your hosting provider to check server logs so we can see if there's any info there that could tell us what's going on?

    To confirm this, can you please crate one dummy email address hosted on same domain ? Then add one dummy user with that email address and try to book appointment. If you( admin ) and that user( client ) receives email then we can be sure that your hosting provider is the one who is blocking other email addresses.( We know this 100% for sure as they have written but confirmation is good so we can stand for our stand. ) o

    Once this gets confirmed, please contact them again and described your situation with Appointment+ plugin. Tell them that its mandatory to whitelist email address from other domains too. I think in this case they are the one who can remove spam protection and whitelist email address from other domain.

    Let me know what they say about this.

    Hi Predrag and Milan,
    I called the hosting provider and explained my situation. He said he could not remove the spam protection. He suggested using an SMTP plugin. I already had WP-Mail-SMTP installed so I activated that and gave it a try.

    It didn't work when I tried to send a test email. At this moment the hosting person is trying to make it work himself with a login I gave him. He just sent an email saying he needed more time. I wonder if he'll succeed.

    In the meantime I would like to ask what you think of his suggestion to use an SMTP plugin.

    I can see that yo have SMTP plugin setup and running. If issue is happening even with SMTP then there should be something which only hosting provider can fix. So please contact them again and this time include that you have already SMTP up and running. But still its happening.
