# Appointments+ Marketpress Inclusive Tax Pricing

Hello @Aaron,

I'm having this issue with the latest version of marketpress and appointments+ integration.

when the tax is inclusive, an incorrect tax price is being displayed.
but when not (exclusive) the correct tax (%18 for Perú) is shown.

Hello Art

I hope you are well today and thanks for asking the question.

In fact, when you select "Enter Prices Inclusive of Tax" to yes, that means that the tax is included into price. Now let's breakdown your page.

I have selected a service and that shows the total price is \$70.00 and the tax is \$10.68 when you set the tax is 18%.

The tax stands on base price, not in total price. Here your base price is (70 - tax). So, the 18% tax will be calculated on (70-tax), not on 70.

So, if the base price is x, then we can say that

x + 0.18x = 70 (for the above case)
so, x = 59.32 (that is the base price)

Now your 18% tax will set on this price, so 18% of 59.32 = 10.6779 ~ 10.68.

Hope it helps. Feel free to ask if you have any more question.

Cheers
Ash

Hello,

Now I understand why it behaves this way.
But it shouldn't.

Marketpress grabs the service price form Appointments+

In this case it's "70".
And the tax is "18%".
When marketpress calculates the tax, it should operate this:
tax = 70 * 18%

If I put "59.32" as the price and tax excluded it works. But not when taxes are included.
If I do it this way, customers will think the price is "59.32" in the calendar form screen and when they get to the shopping cart page, they'll realize it's wrong.

Perhaps you can tell me where to change the code.

The final alternative for me is not to show the tax in the shopping cart and checkout page. I could show a message saying that taxes are already included, but this wouldn't be a neat solution.

Well
Thanks for the support.

I think when you select inclusive, it means the tax is included in the price.

Also, I am tagging developer, and hope he will come back with a solution for you

Hello,

any news?

Thank you

• Ash

Hello Art

Thank you for your patience. I am tagging the developer again and hope he will reply soon.

Meantime, I am just curious how do you want to show the prices? For example, if you put the price is \$100 and the tax 10% inclusive, how do you want to display in the checkout page please?

Cheers

Hello,

for the website to work without confusions, I've just removed the tax line from displaying. But I'm not sure if this could cause any trouble while adding payment gateways.

In the example you suggested, the calculation would be:

taxes: \$10
price: \$100

Thank you

So, attached image is correct for you?

• Art

Hello,

if the taxes are 10% then the attached image ain't correct.
the taxes should be 15\$ (10% of 150\$)

it's not difficult at all to understand the issue.

I read in some other posts that there's an issue with php round method before applying taxes or something like that...

Well...
I hope you can fix this, because it's an issue that concerns every appointments+marketpress users

Thank you
