[Appointments+] ZAR currency

Every now and then I run into issues with ZAR currency not natively supported in WPMUDEV plugins.

The latest is Appointments+ Can this be added rather soon?

(I also advise something like a 'Terms and Conditions' with every plugin that stipulates clearly something like: "Don't use this plugin if you intend to ask money and you are in one of these countries where we don't support the currency yet [mention the countries]" This way a client will know not to bother before setting everything up."

It's just frustrating.

    Hello Elmo

    Hope you're doing well!

The Appointments+ plugin payment gateway os PayPal. ZAR is not a supported currency in PayPal and I think that is the reason it's not included in the plugin. Please see available currencies here:
    https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/api/currency_codes/

Also, you can request from PayPal to include ZAR currency here:
    https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Sending-and-receiving-money/SOUTH-AFRICA-RAND-ZAR/td-p/788178/page/4?profile.language=en

As a workaround, you can try including Currency Conerst widget:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/currency-converter-widget/

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Nastia

    Hi Nastia
I understand that neither PayPal nor WPMUDEV can be all things to all people. Currency is however such an important thing. This should tell you that your customers mean business - quite literally. And that they can then choose to do business elsewhere, which I've considered a number of times.

Here is my suggestion until such time that ZAR currency is better supported. Have the developers basically not force the client to display a currency. Or even to use a simple text setting to write ZAR (even if it doesn't calculate). This has to do with end user experience.

For Appointments+ At the very least this will display the relevant currency to the person interested in making an appointment.

Even better as suggested in another support ticket concerning Market Press and MembershipPro; let the end user/customers choose their own currency.

    Hey Elmo ,

    Hope you're well.

I understand the situation here but Appointments only has Paypal integration for payment and this is not possible to include a currency that Paypal not supported for the current version of the plugin.

But if you want to hide pricing on your pages, send us the URLs that you want to hide and we can write custom CSS for you to hide that, then you can add your own texts anywhere on that page as you wish.

    Cheers,
    Oguz
