Authorizing members before access (free subscription)

Is there any way of authorizing members before the they can access their free subscription?

I want to give access to certain pages for free, but want to be able to see who is registering before I give them access.

Many thanks!

    Thanks again!

What happened now is that it sent a activation link to the email I registered and when I activated the link I could just log in.

What do I do to authorize members before they are able to log in?

Updated to the Beta7 release and now I get this to the email I register with:

    Username: testmember
    Password: password123

And then I can just log in.

I would like to authorize members first before they can log in and access. they have do have a wp-login.php page? I just want them to access a certain page on my webpage.

    Any suggestions?
